GMT Vocational Foundation Attends GATA Certification Training with Senator Adriane Johnson and Representative Rita Mayfield

GMT Vocational Foundation Founder and Program Director Sue Dickson attended a GATA Certification Training hosted by Senator Adriane Johnson and Representative Rita Mayfield in Waukegan today. The event focused on helping local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations better understand the Illinois Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) requirements—an essential step for organizations seeking state and federal grant funding.

The session provided valuable insight into compliance, reporting, and documentation standards that strengthen fiscal transparency and readiness for future funding opportunities. For the GMT Vocational Foundation, this certification reinforces our commitment to operating with full accountability and transparency as we continue to expand our programs and partnerships throughout Illinois and beyond.

GATA certification ensures the Foundation is eligible and prepared to apply for state-level grants to support initiatives like Give Me TEN, student scholarships, and other workforce development efforts that connect education, business, and community.

We’re grateful to Senator Johnson and Representative Mayfield for their leadership in empowering local organizations to grow capacity and better serve students and families across Lake County.
