The GMT Vocational Foundation is proud to announce its 2nd Annual Skilled Trades Scholarship, created to help students take their first real step into a rewarding career. This $1,000 scholarship supports individuals pursuing hands-on, career-ready pathways and recognizes work ethic, integrity, and initiative as the true foundations of success.

WHO CAN APPLY

  • High-school seniors, graduates, or GED recipients

  • Students enrolled or planning to enroll (after January 1, 2026) in a trade, technical, or vocational training program

  • Be enrolled in a 2-year college program or accredited trade or skilled labor program

  • No GPA requirement

Early Education

Electrical

Fire Science

HVAC

Information Technology / Cybersecurity

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

STUDENTS WHO:

  • Show pride in their work and community

  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and reliability

  • Take initiative to learn and grow in their trade

  • Believe in giving back and helping others succeed

AWARD DETAILS

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded

Funds may be used for tools, uniforms, certifications, tuition, or transportation

TIMELINE

Applications Open: January 15, 2026

Deadline: March 31, 2026 (11:59 PM CST)

Winner Announced: April 30, 2026

Funds Distributed: May 2026

Winner must provide proof of enrollment before funds are distributed. Failure to do so will void the scholarship.

HOW TO APPLY

Complete the online application form.

The application will be on this page starting on January 15.

Applicants will submit:

  • One short essay

  • One career expenses paragraph

  • One letter of recommendation

  • Signed GMT work ethic promise
