ComEd Market Development Initiative (MDI)

We’re excited to share that the GMT Vocational Foundation had the opportunity to be part of the ComEd Market Development Initiative (MDI) in Waukegan!

Working alongside the incredible Walker-Miller Workforce Development Team, and through our Give Me TEN partnership, we helped bring together the first MDI Skilled Cohort – Fresh Energy to the Waukegan community.

This program is about so much more than training. It’s about creating opportunities, building a skilled local workforce, and connecting people to meaningful careers in the growing clean energy and skilled trades industries.

A special thank you to Lake County Workforce Development for partnering with Give Me TEN to expand work-based learning opportunities throughout our communities. Together, we are creating stronger connections between education, workforce development, businesses, and the people seeking meaningful career opportunities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this initiative a success. When organizations come together with a shared vision, we can create real pathways that strengthen our workforce and change lives.

This is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see the impact these partnerships will continue to have across our communities.
